The Genesis of Outbound Training
Outbound training was developed by Dr. Kurt Hah and was tested for the first time during World War II in the turbulent waters of the North Sea, Providing young sailors with the necessary experiences and skills to survive in the sea. Dr. Kurt Han, founder of the outer bound method, a philosophical street believes that on the road provides a strong learning ground for the city’s professionals. In Dr. Hanne’s opinion, there are 3 significant advantages of corporate team building programs – First, compassion, which helps in making mutual relations, faith, and bondage; Second, Innovative and creative thinking; And third, collective intelligence. “To help prepare a fellow person to help in danger or experience in a realistic way, changing the balance of power in the internal life of the youth, compassion can be the object of purpose.” – Dr. Kurt Han
The crux of OBT is rooted in carrying a group of people in an unfamiliar environment in which they are given a set of challenges that they have to solve with limited resources. They have the most important resource in these outbound training programs, which are members of their group. The basic principle of outdoor adventure training is that when a team is thrown together in unfamiliar settings, where they depend on each other for existence on one another, the development of the team is very fast.
